Description

Flex Etcher | Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Location: Plymouth, MA

Lead with Purpose. Grow with Tech Etch.

We’re seeking a dedicated Flex Etcher to join our 2nd-shift team. If you thrive in a highly technical, fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering panels that meet strict customer specifications, this role is for you. You’ll perform manual wet chemical tank and conveyor etching on panel substrates, handle stripping and seeding steps, and be cross-trained on plating processes. Accurate processing plus routine preventive maintenance keep our lines running smoothly and our customers delighted.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Execute wet chemical tank and conveyor etching processes per standard work instructions to meet customer specifications (e.g., concentration, temperature, dwell time).
  • Read, interpret, and apply special instructions or traveler notes when applicable (e.g., unique panel materials, custom etch depths).
  • Measure critical panel dimensions and surface conditions using specialized gauges and tools (e.g., micrometers, thickness gauges) to verify conformance.
  • Accurately document measurements, process parameters, and trends on product control worksheets and traveler review sheets.
  • Fixture and process panels through various wet chemical tanks and conveyors using frames, leaders, and backboards; ensure parts are properly aligned to prevent defects.
  • Participate in cross-training for plating processes (manual tanks or automated lines) and step up as needed to support plating operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and equipment in compliance with all prescribed safety regulations—properly rinse stations, dispose of chemical waste, and keep aisles clear.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on etch equipment per the operator process control checklist (e.g., check conveyor belts, inspect pumps, clean tank filters).
  • Complete daily tasks as directed by the production schedule with minimal supervision, consistently meeting or exceeding throughput targets.
  • Communicate process feedback, equipment issues, or material concerns to the department Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate as a team member with peers and leadership to support production demands and continuous improvement initiatives.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in wet chemical etching, plating, or related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read written instructions clearly and write legibly for accurate documentation.
  • Quality-driven mindset with keen attention to detail—ensuring each panel meets specifications before moving downstream.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn new processes (e.g., plating).
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills—able to report measurements, log trends, and escalate issues clearly.
  • Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to help peers and adapt to changing production needs.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following all environmental, health, and safety protocols.
