Description

Racker | Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Location: Plymouth, MA

Lead with Purpose. Grow with Tech Etch.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Racker to join our 2nd-shift Finishing team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment and take pride in ensuring every part is properly prepared for downstream finishing operations, this is the role for you. You’ll spend your shift wiring and fixturing delicate parts onto racks—supporting cleaning, plating, and surface coating processes—while helping maintain a safe, efficient workspace.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Wire or fixture parts onto designated racks per general instructions (e.g., using copper wire or pre-existing rack fixtures).
  • Read and apply special instructions when required, ensuring correct part orientation and fixturing.
  • Perform frequent counting of product to maintain accuracy and meet daily rack quotas.
  • Inspect incoming parts and report any defects or questionable conditions immediately to the Department Lead.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean, organized, and compliant with all safety regulations (e.g., proper disposal of wire scraps, maintaining clear walkways).
  • Execute prescribed preventive maintenance on racking equipment (e.g., check wire cutters, lubricate pins, inspect rack fixtures) as scheduled.
  • Complete tasks as directed by the manufacturing schedule with minimal supervision, consistently meeting production targets.
  • Collaborate with peers and leadership to support overall production demands and address issues promptly.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of related racking, assembly, or finishing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read work orders and written instructions; legible penmanship for labeling and counts.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, counting by twos or tens).
  • Mechanical inclination: able to troubleshoot simple fixture or wire-break issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness—ensuring each part is properly secured before moving downstream.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask during peak production cycles.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills—able to report defects, ask clarifying questions, and document maintenance.
  • Safety-focused mindset and commitment to maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment.
