ABOUT THE JOB

 

The Plater is to clean and electroplate metal deposits as specified by the customer in accordance with a Print or Traveler, onto various substrates that are either on racks or in sheet form. A Plater uses a multitude of specified chemistry steps in sequence to first clean the metal and then electrolytically deposit a separate metal onto the surface of the part, to impart a desired characteristic that meet the customer’s needs. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure process capability.

 

  • Perform plating processes per general instructions and applicable instructional Matrices and placards to achieve customer specifications (i.e. plating thickness).
  • Read and apply special instructions when applicable.
  • Perform frequent measuring tasks with specialized equipment as well as in-process verification testing to ensure product conformance.
  • Document measurements and trends according to product control worksheet and traveler review and markup instructions.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department Lead.
  • Monitor chemistry and equipment condition to ensure good quality.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform prescribed preventive maintenance on equipment as required per P.M. charts.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Work as a team member with peers and leadership to achieve production demands.
