ABOUT THE JOB

The Tool and Die Maker position consists of three classes A, B, and C as described below

The Class A Tool Maker can carry out several essential functions

  • Capable of building and troubleshooting various tools, dies, and fixtures out of precision materials that will be utilized in production
  • Capable of holding close tolerances on precision tooling, typically .0005 or better daily
  • Capable of setting up and operating all Tool Room equipment such as lathes, Bridgeport milling machines, Grinders, Heat Treat oven, Drills, Wire EDM, and CNC Miller
  • Capable of interpreting and working with Engineering drawings, ensuring tooling or fixture produces product within customer tolerances
  • Capable of designing tooling to achieve customer specifications of end product
  • Manufacture quality parts within scheduled time frame
  • Self-Inspection for quality adherence to ISO and customer specifications while utilizing inspection equipment
  • Practices continuous improvement on efficient techniques and creativity

The Class B Tool Maker has similar functions as the Class A Tool Maker but specializes in die, form tool, or fixture making.

The Class C Tool Maker has similar functions as the Class A Tool Maker with instruction specializes in tool repair.
