ABOUT THE JOB

As the Production Planner, you will use the ERP system to plan the activities of our plant’s production lots, provide delivery information to our customer service department, and participate in the overall planning of each work center in the plant.

• Receive orders from the Sales department and determine how much of the order can go out to the manufacturing area
  • Determine capacity using workload charts and other data sheets
  • Review data to determine lot size and how much can be completed in a day based on capacity (understanding the move & wait times of job lots)
  • Create and print internal order sheet (Traveler) for the Expediter
• Work closely with Expediter, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to coordinate the job to ensure it ships to the customer on time
• Field customer requests to increase/decrease quantities, delivery dates, etc.
• Manage customer inventory through vendor managed inventory (VMI) system
• Update and maintain data for customer information

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Understanding of the manufacturing flow from order entry to ship, including capacity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making ability, basic math and organization skills
• Comfortable utilizing Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
• Strong time management skills with an eye for detail
• Strong integrity, reliability, and initiative
